It may have only been a few years since you took the SATs exams, but they’ve steadily increased in difficulty year on year.

To give you an indication of how much harder the tests are these days, consider this: shortly after the exams, the Department for Education revealed just 53 per cent of students met the expected standard in maths, writing and reading last year.

This is down from 80 per cent the previous year.
