When it comes to student loans, it can be useful to think less about the total potential debt hanging over your head, and more about how much of it you’ll actually end up paying back.

In reality, not everyone will repay their loan in its entirety. Some graduates might even get away with paying nothing but interest before the entire debt is written off after 30 years. It all depends on how much you earn.
